Divisions

Athlete
This experienced group of people are not necessarily newbies to CrossFit, you may have just started or have been CrossFitting for years. You are able to finish any WOD you start and have a competitors spirit. Be prepared to join this group if you have any question in mind about if you are a FireBreather, your ego is safer here.

Master
CrossFitters 45 and older. You are strong, poised and confident, however understand your days of competing with 20 year olds are requiring too many days to recuperate. These are the Benjamin Buttons of fitness, you are becoming younger and fitter as you grow old.

FireBreather
You not only are an intense CrossFitters, but you are skillful and efficient in the most challenging of CrossFit movements. If you do not have an impressive CrossFit total, cyclical pull-ups, unbroken doubles and mad muscle-ups, beware. If your snatch isn’t graceful, your dead not heavy or if the mention of 20 ft rope climbs, c2b pull ups, pistol squats and weighted gymnastics are intimidating see “Athlete”

The Voice of America Games are a  celebration of competitive fitness that will have a patriotic pulse, something that  spectators and athletes alike will enjoy. Come join us on February 11th if you love CrossFit, camaraderie and the freedom we have to express these attributes in the place we know as home.

First Release: Teaser – 1/30/2012

We promised we would release “some information” today and thats exactly what we’re doing.

Athletes – There will be three WODs. All “Athletes” will complete all three WODs. Although there will be no cuts for this division the last WOD will resemble a “Finals” style workout. We are looking forward to seeing some “noobs” to the sport give it your all to prove that your are in fact a CrossFit Athlete!

Masters – There will also be three WODs for this division but four scores. Similar to the athletes division there will be no cuts throughout the day for the Masters. The “Final” WOD will have two scores and will serve as a separator of those who enjoy working out and those who are truly masters.

FireBreathers – You are in for a treat. Not only do you get to complete the same three WODs as the other divisions scaled UP, but there is also an epic “Final” WOD that will separate the Men and Women from the Boys and Girls. Prior to the “Final” we will make cuts to the top five women and top five men.

WOD #1 – This is an interesting take on a classic CrossFit triplet. This is the longest MetCon of the day and will turn out to be a good test of skill, strength and basic aerobic capacity.

WOD #2 – This WOD is for the “Speal’s” of CrossFit. The movements are very basic but one has a unique twist that is original to the VOA Games (to our knowledge).

WOD #3 – Both Strength and Technique will be tested here. Watch some Burgener videos online to dial in proper positioning prior to WOD #3
